As the Launch date for the Vantis Corporate Challenge approaches and Everest looms in the distance, it has been great to hear what some of the other challengers have planned.

Our Ladys Convent School in Loughborough have already come up with a number of innovative ideas which showcase their energy, enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit.

The first event, to take place in March, is a balloon release. Alongside this, there will be a number of smaller scale events, ending with the judging of a Sunflower growing competition.

The speaker at this years launch will be Lincolnshire business man and Dragons’ Den success story Andy Harsley, proud creator of the ‘Rapstrap’, a reusable polyurethane band that can tie up bin bags, cables, plants and saplings.

Viewers of the BBC2 programme watched Andy secure a £150,000 investment for the ‘Rapstrap’ back in 2008. His invention, which is being heralded ‘the next generation cable tie’ landed him a £36 million contract to supply one billion of the plastic ties to one of the world’s leading plastics distributors.

The launch is at The Porsche Centre Leicester on March 3rd and if you are up to the challenge there is still time to enroll by contacting gemma@thephoenixpartners.com.
